HUB8: Hello, can you give us a little introduction to who you are and what you do? Where do you live? What do you love about it?
Nevena Sofranić: You know me as the founder of Omnes Group, a tech recruiting agency and Recrooit – a SaaS marketplace where you can earn money by referring others for jobs. For the past 10 years I’ve been finding ways to bridge the gap between employers and talent on a quest to solve the ever-changing problem that is tech recruitment.
H8: What are you working on just now that you are most excited about doing?
NS: I’m building Recrooit, a two-sided recruiting platform where you can earn by referring others for advertised jobs. It’s very exciting building software that challenges recruiting practices and I’m very grateful to build the product around the feedback from the world wide recruiting community.
H8: What has been your favorite moment on the project so far? What are you looking forward to the most in the future of the project?
NS: I will never get enough of the messages from Recrooit users once that referral fee comes in, those are my favourite. It’s a diverse community, and I am looking forward to launch a new version where we’ll allow our users to “own” the platform.
H8: How do you prefer to start your day?
NS: I’m offline in the mornings. This is when I’m the most creative, so I build content, write, schedule socials and answer emails. As people start humming I move slowly to Jira.
H8: What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend? Any story to share?
NS: I live on a tight schedule, so I like my weekends spontaneous as they get. I might hop on a flight to a place nearby, I might be playing tennis or simply embracing Sunday scaries by watching Netflix.
H8: What’s your go-to productivity trick?
NS: Rest. I am very bullish on fighting the hustle culture. If your productivity drops it’s most likely because you’re tired or stressed. Once your cortisol level rises, you’re not gonna accomplish much by trying to work harder, quite the opposite. Bring the best of self, not the rest of self.
H8: What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
NS: Focus on micro-advice rather than the big flashy ones and leverage those. Invest time understanding what people around you are REALLY saying. Which questions do people ask you, their POV on the subject, what are they struggling with… I read it on Lemkin’s blog, the SaaS O.G.
H8: If you could share one piece of advice for those who are just starting to create?
Nevena Sofranić: It doesn’t have to be perfect. Launch ASAP to learn what are you actually building.
